Hunan Kela New Materials Reaches Annual Capacity of 1,000 Metric Tons for SWCNT Slurry, Ready to Support Global Scale Conductive Material Demands
Changsha, Hunan Province, China – 14 Nov 2025 – Hunan Kela New Materials Co., Ltd., an innovator in nano-material manufacturing, today announced that its production capability for single-walled carbon nanotube slurry had reached 1,000 metric tons (MT) per year. This milestone underlines the company's readiness to serve high-volume applications in ESD plastics, conductive coatings, printed electronics and battery systems.
Key Highlights
• The capacity of 1,000 MT/year positions Kela among the few manufacturers worldwide able to supply SWCNT slurry at an industrial scale.
• The SWCNT slurry is offered in water and N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) solvent systems, allowing flexibility across plastics, coatings, and electrode manufacturing.
• Compared with the traditional carbon black or CNT powder fillers, the SWCNT slurry from Kela can provide ultra-low loading, better conductivity, superior mechanical/aesthetic properties, and easier processing.
• Kela serves customers globally in the United States, Europe, and Asia with consistent product quality, logistic reliability, and technical support from its Changsha base.
Executive Comment
"We are very proud to announce this production milestone," said Mr. Zhang, CEO of Hunan Kela New Materials. "Reaching a 1,000 MT annual capacity for SWCNT slurry is proof of our commitment to industrial-scale manufacturing of advanced nanomaterials. It enables our customers to plan large-volume applications with confidence and supply security."
About the Technology
Kela’s SWCNT slurry is synthesized by a proprietary method for generating high aspect-ratio, high-conductivity single-walled carbon nanotubes, then uniformly dispersed in solvent systems tailored for plastics masterbatch, coatings, inks, and battery electrodes. The slurry simplifies formulation by eliminating the heavy dispersion work required for CNT powders and supports lower filler loadings (typically 0.02 – 0.1% by weight) to achieve target electrical performance. Market Implications With the conductive materials market increasingly demanding scalable solutions, Kela's 1,000 MT capacity enables large-volume compounding, coating, and battery manufacturing runs. Petoxide makers, film/foil producers, printed-electronics integrators, and battery OEMs can now take advantage of the availability of this material to scale well beyond prototyping into full-production volume.
